This group of committed eco-fervent folks is committed to making St. Martin’s as “green” as possible. Recently, their focus has been on composting. Plates, cups, forks, spoons, and napkins used for hospitality after church and at other church events are all compostable. The coffee we use is Fair Trade, and the half and half is organic!
The St. Martin’s Garden Club enjoys working to beautify the property around the church where we have created many lovely garden areas. We worked with Spa Creek Conservancy to install 18 rain gardens and infiltration areas on our grounds to capture polluted storm run-off. This environmentally significant project began in 2010 and was completed in two years. We continue to maintain the rain gardens so that they remain functional and beautiful.
